RMH Laboratory Earns HFAP Accreditation

The Richland Memorial Hospital Laboratory recently underwent a rigorous two day survey by Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP) of American Osteopathic Associations Bureau of Healthcare Facilities Accreditation. The RMH laboratory was found to meet the standards for accreditation in the areas of Microbiology, Diagnostic Immunology, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunohematology, and Pathology. The successful accreditation report is the result of many hours of preparation by the staff of 22 laboratory professionals.

“I’m very pleased with the outcome and with the labs performance. It takes everyone’s combined efforts to be successful,” notes Carl Waggle, Director of Laboratory Services for RMH. “I would just like to congratulate the staff on the outstanding report.”

Based on these findings, the laboratory was granted a two year accreditation.
